Volunteering during the Romanian Design Week gives you the chance to know and interact with design aficionados, to learn more about the main categories (advertising, graphic design, branding; architecture, urbanism, interior design; fashion; product design and lifestyle design) and contributes in building you a strong future career.
Romanian Design Week launches a Call for Projects for the Students’ Gallery between 26th of February and 18th of April. (DDL EXTENSION – Friday // 25th of April).
This competition is open to undergraduate students only.
Romanian Design Week is proud to present a special showcase including works by all year students at fine arts and architecture in major universities. The students’ gallery will reunite works custom made for this event, developed on specific briefs, related with this year theme: Design in public space.
The exhibition will showcase prototypes and sketches, transforming the display into an incubator of emerging talents, representing a clear vision of contemporary and fresh Romanian design.

About Romanian Design Week
Romanian Design Week is created and organized by The Institute. After a Preview edition that took place in 2013, the first edition of Romanian Design Week will take place between 16-25 May 2014. Romanian Design Week is an event dedicated to Romanian design that addresses a broad public of professionals, amateurs and enthusiasts. Romanian Design Week will involve cultural venues, galleries, design studios, hotels and restaurants, which embody the city’s creative dynamic, setting a vibrant itinerary of exhibitions, pop-up shops, creative conferences, parties and other events.
Romanian Design Week 2014 will run from May 16 to May 25 and will focus on the importance of design in public spaces. The design is a bridge between communities, concerns and aesthetic layers and the focus of this edition will be on the environment that we all share, on the collective space and on how design helps us to communicate, interpret and improve our lives.
2014 Edition will include the following domains: Graphic Design, Branding and Advertising // Architecture, Urban Planning and Interior Design // Fashion Design // Product Design // Lifestyle Design ( which includes Food Design, Sound Design and Digital Design).
The preview edition of Romanian Design Week took place during May 17th – 26th 2013 in Bucharest and it included a central exhibition and 38 collateral events covering eight major disciplines: fashion, product design, interior design, architecture, digital design, graphic design, advertising and photography.
